Abstract: The structure "you+NPpatient+VP" is intrinsically heterogeneous, and the structure "you fan chi（have food to eat）" is
one type of it, and in which VP and NP are qualified: VP has to be monosyllable and carries the semantic meaning of [+consuming] or
[+for making living]; NP tends to belong to the basic category, and embodies the universal attributes. The constructional meaning of this
structure is the conditions for meeting the needs of life.
